Comment

South Island only offering 7,700 bales.  The selection consisted of 47% average colour crossbred fleece, 75/150mm, 6% hogget fleece good colour, 33 to 35 micron 75/125mm, 14% crossbred second shear good colour, bulk 75/100mm, 15% good colour lambs 28.0 to 30.0 micron, 14% associated oddments and 4% miscellaneous types.  Indian subcontinent main and China main with support from Europe and local carpet mills.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred fleece 5% dearer.

Poorer colour crossbred fleece firm.

Second Shears

All descriptions 5.5% dearer.

Lambs

Lambs fleece 5% dearer.

Oddments

In general 6% dearer.

23% passed in.
