Summary

Market mixed again.

Comment

Small combined North and South Island National Sale offering 3,230 bales.

Selection consisted of 51% crossbred fleece, mainly good colour, 25% crossbred hogget and second shear, good colour, 5% lambs, 4% halfbred fleece good colour, 14% associated oddments and 1% miscellaneous types.

The sale started softly with crossbreds selling buyers favour, however during the sale competition picked up. Crossbred shears noted a lift from previous weeks. Crossbred oddments were keenly sought after with 100% sold. There was an average selection of halfbreds which accounted for most of the passings.

Crossbred fleece good colour buyers favour.

Crossbred shears 1% dearer.

Oddments

Clothing oddments 1-2% dearer.

Combing oddments buyers favour.

Passings

25% passed in (majority halfbreds).
