Summary

Market eases slightly.

Comment

South Island offering 4,600 bales and the North Island offering 9,000 bales.  The selection consisted of 70% ewe and hogget fleece, 32.0 to 38.0 micron, 15% early shorn and hogget second shear, 31.0 to 38.0 micron, 10% oddments and 5% miscellaneous types.  There was keen widespread competition with Australasian carpet mills, India sub-continent and Europe main with limited support from China.

Crossbred ewe and hogget fleece buyers favour.

Second Shears

75 mm tending buyers favour.

Oddments

All descriptions 2.5% cheaper.
