Summary

Market mixed.

Comment

South Island only selling today with 7,000 bales on offer.  The selection consisted of 40% good/average colour crossbred fleece, 34.0 to 38.0 micron, 20% second shear good colour generally 3/4″ to 3/5″, 20% end of season combing lambs 30.0 to 31.0 micron, 15% associated oddments and 5% new season halfbred fleece good colour, 23.0 to 30.0 micron.  Competition was reasonably widespread with most sectors operating.

Fleece Wools

Good colour crossbred fleece buyers favour.

Poorer style crossbred fleece 2.5% cheaper.

Halfbred fleece in a limited selection up to 5% dearer.

Second Shears

Generally firm.

Shorter styles finished slightly dearer.

Lambs

Combing lambs 2.5% cheaper.
