EASTERN AUSTRALIAN MARKET REPORT

The market has opened on a very disappointing tone. All descriptions cheaper.

COMMENT

About 30% passed in overall but nearly 50% of the Melbourne Merino fleece wool failed to meet the grower reserve. Crossbred types only 2% easier.

FLEECE

Some fairly significant changes in price. Most types and descriptions 6 to 8 % cheaper when compared to the close.

Shortest and finest least affected.

SKIRTINGS

Generally 5 to 6% cheaper with better and fine types least affected.

OPEN TOP

Generally less affected than normal top types. Nominally 4 to 5% easier with the cheaper more inferior types less affected.
