Summary

Market mixed.

Comment

South Island only offering 10,285 bales.  The selection was 50% fleece mainly good colour, some average style, 15% crossbred shears good colour, length 2/3-3/5, 15% associated crossbred oddments, 10% early season halfbred fleeces, 22.0 to 29.5 micron, 5% end of season lambs and 5% miscellaneous types.  Main competition was from South East Asia, China, Middle East and well supported by Australasian carpet mills.  Europe the main competition on the finer fleeces.

Fleece Wools

Crossbred fleece good colour firm.

Average style 5% cheaper.

Halfbred fleece 22.0-29.5 micron generally 7% cheaper.

Second Shears

All descriptions buyers favour.

Oddments

Clothing oddments very firm.

Combing oddments sellers favour.
