AUSTRALIAN WEEKLY MARKET REPORT

Comment Wool auction sales continued this week with 37,000 bales offered and 20,000 eventually sold. The passed in rate increased as the sale progressed. Our company view is that sales should not be proceeding under these extraordinary circumstances. We have almost the entire global retail sector closed down. The impact this is having down the […]

EASTERN AUSTRALIAN MARKET REPORT

The majority of the wool offered was passed in as prices fell further. COMMENT All descriptions cheaper as further market indecision prevails. FLEECE Nil good or best fine wool available today. All other fleece types 3 to 4% easier but with less than 50% sold, it was difficult to provide accurate or meaningful market quotes. […]

EASTERN AUSTRALIAN MARKET REPORT

Market cheaper. Demand was thin as buyers looked for ‘good value’. COMMENT The very poor offering didn’t help, possibly the worst on record for a Sydney sale. Passed in rate remains high. FLEECE Practically nil good fine wool available. All average quality types and descriptions were up to 5% easier with finest lots least affected. […]

EASTERN AUSTRALIAN MARKET REPORT

Market rebounds positively. COMMENT Chinese interests dominating. FLEECE Little to no best fine wool on offer. Good types all 1 to 2% dearer with the broader edge (20.0>) most affected. Even low yielding and higher VM lots in keener demand today. SKIRTINGS Generally 1% dearer OPEN TOP Up to 1% dearer.

The Australian dollar is always less favoured during times of turmoil as investors move to the safer global currencies or gold. The […]

EASTERN AUSTRALIAN MARKET REPORT

Market cheaper except broader merino types in keener demand from Chinese interests. COMMENT Uncertainty continues on global markets. High passed in rate was the notable factor again today. FLEECE Generally 2 to 3% easier except for 20.5 / 21.5 micron generally unchanged. Low yield lots remain out of favour and while much cheaper, were predominantly […]
