Market generally dearer.

Comment

South Island offering 7,200 bales and North Island offering 12,600 bales this week.  The selection consisted of 37% ewe fleece, 34.0 to 38.0 micron, 15% second shear, 35.0 to 39.0 micron, 25% lambs fleece, 29.0 to 30.0 micron, 16% oddments and 7% miscellaneous types.  The South Island also included a small selection of Merino fleece which was a clean up for the season.  Widespread competition with most sectors operating.  China main, with support from South East Asia, United Kingdom, Europe and Australasian carpet mills.

Good/average colour ewe fleece all descriptions sellers favour.

Second Shears

All descriptions firm.

Lambs

Generally 5% dearer.

Oddments

All descriptions firm.
