Market generally softens.

Comment

South Island only today offering 6,400 bales this week.  The selection consisted of 45% good/average colour ewe fleece, 34.0 to 38.0 micron, 15% good colour second shear, 35.0 to 38.0 micron, 25% lambs fleece, 29.0 to 31.0 micron, 15% associated fleece, shear lamb oddments.  Most types softened slightly with the strongest competition from South East Asia and the Australasian carpet mills.

Good colour ewe fleece buyers favour.

Average colour ewe fleece fully firm.

Second Shears

Good colour buyers favour.

Lambs

All microns generally 5% cheaper.

Oddments

All descriptions buyers favour.
