Market mixed.

Comment

North Island only selling this week with 7,330 bales on offer.  The selection consisted of 70% crossbred second shear 35.0 to 40.0 micron mainly good colour 50/75mm, 11% crossbred fleece 35.0 to 37.0 micron mainly average colour 75/100mm, 15% associated oddments and 4% miscellaneous types.  Selected competition with the India main, supported by Europe, the United Kingdom and Australasian carpet mills.  New Zealand dollar was generally 2.5% cheaper against most currencies.

Fleece

Average colour very firm.

Second Shears

Good colour shears 4% cheaper.

Poorer colour up to 2.5% dearer.

Oddments

Clothing oddments buyers favour.

Passings

19% passed in.
