Comment

North Island only selling today with 10,000 bales on offer.  Selection was made up of 12% average/poor colour crossbred fleece, bulk 75/150mm, 49% good/average colour crossbred second shear bulk 75mm, 20% average/poor colour crossbred lambs 29-31 micron, 15% associated oddments and 4% miscellaneous types.  Indian sub-continent and local carpet mills main, supported by China, Europe and United Kingdom.  Considering the cost of moving North Island wool to the South Island for processing the market was as follows.

Fleece

All descriptions firm.

Shears

Good colour generally 2.5% cheaper.

Poorer style firm.

Lambs

Buyers favour.

Oddments

Combing oddments firm.

Clothing oddments buyers favour.
