Market mixed.

Comment

South Island only selling today with 6,600 bales on offer.  The selection consisted of 25% crossbred hogget fleece 30-35 micron good colour bulk 75/125mm, 24% crossbred ewe fleece 36-39 micron, good/average colour bulk 75/150mm, 20% crossbred ewe/hogget shear, 30-38 micron, good colour, bulk 75/100mm, 6% merino fleece super style 16-22 micron, 5% halfbred fleece, 23-29 micron good/average colour, 16% associated oddments and 4% miscellaneous types.  Limited competition with Indian sub-continent and China main with support from Europe, the United Kingdom and local carpet mills.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred fleece 2.5% cheaper.

Poorer style crossbred buyers favour.

Merino fleece trending sellers favour.

Halfbred fleece 2% dearer.

Shears

All style crossbred shears generally firm.

Oddments

5% cheaper.
