Market dearer.

Comment

North Island offering 7,200 bales, South Island offering 6,000 bales.  The selection consisted of 40% ewe fleece average/good colour 75/150mm, 30% crossbred second shear good/average colour 75mm +/-, 25% lambs, good colour, 4% associated oddments and 1% miscellaneous types.  Strong competition.  Indian sub-continent and China dominating with good support from Europe, the United Kingdom and local carpet mills.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred ewe/hogget fleece fully firm.

Poorer style crossbred fleece 9% dearer.

Shears

Good colour crossbred shears 6% dearer.

Poorer style crossbred shears 9% dearer.

Lambs

New season lambs of good colour 4% dearer.

Poorer style lambs 20% dearer from a low base.

Oddments

All descriptions up to 10% dearer with a focus again on carding oddments.
