Market generally tending easier.

Comment

South Island only offering 8,100 bales.  The selection consisted of 50% ewe fleece good/average colour, 75/150mm, 10% crossbred second shear good colour, 75mm +/-, 25% lambs generally good colour, 10% associated oddments and 5% miscellaneous types.  Main competition Indian sub-continent, United Kingdom, Europe and local carpet mills with limited support from China.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred ewe/hogget fleece 2% cheaper.

Poorer style crossbred fleece up to 3% cheaper.

Shears

Good colour crossbred shears 2% cheaper.

Poorer colour crossbred shears firm.

Lambs

Good colour lambs 2.5% cheaper.

Oddments

Carding oddments fully firm.
