Market generally firm tending dearer.

Comment

South Island only selling today with an offering of 5,670 bales.  The selection consisted of 43% good to average colour full length fleece, 20% crossbred shears generally good colour, 19% mainly good/average colour lambs, 2-4 inch, 13% associated oddments, and 5% miscellaneous.  Competition focus still from China and India with support from the United Kingdom, Europe and local mills.

Shears

Firm to sellers favour.

Lambs

All descriptions generally firm.

Oddments

Carding oddments 1% cheaper off the back of two weeks of very strong competition.

Passings

20% passed in.
