Summary

Market continues its upward trend.

Comment

South Island only offering 6,450 bales.

Selection consisted of 22% crossbred fleece mostly good colour, 19% hogget fleece, good colour, 10% crossbred hogget and second shear good colour 50/100mm, 6% crossbred lambs fleece, mostly good colour, 4% halfbred fleece, 9% halfbred hogget fleece, 7% merino fleece, 5% merino hogget fleece, 14% associated oddments all descriptions and 4% miscellaneous types.

The market continued strongly across all types.  Crossbred fleece both good and poor colour were very keenly sought after.  Merino wool lifted to be firmly in line with Australian prices.  Main buyers were Europe, China and the United Kingdom supported by local Australasian mills.

Fleece

Crossbred fleece good colour 2% dearer.

Crossbred fleece average colour 3% dearer.

Crossbred hoggets up to 1.5% dearer.

Halfbred fleece 5% dearer.

Merino fleece 5% dearer in line with Australia.

Shears

Crossbred shears up to 2.5% dearer.

Oddments

Crossbred oddments all descriptions firm.

Passings

12% Passed In.
