Market generally dearer except finer wools and crossbred oddments which tended buyers favour.

Comment

South Island only offering 6,300 bales.  The selection consisted of 40% good colour hogget/ewe fleece, 31.0 to 37.0 micron bulk 100/125mm, 10% good style hogget/ewe second shear, 31.0 to 37.0 micron bulk 75mm, 22% super style halfbred fleece, 23.0 to 30.0 micron, 10% super style merino fleece 15.0 to 22.0 micron, 16% associated oddments and 2% miscellaneous types.  Europe and United Kingdom main with limited support from the Indian sub continent, China and Australasian carpet mills.

Fleece

Crossbred hogget and ewe fleece sellers favour.

23.0-30.0 micron fleece 5% dearer.

21.0-22.5 micron fleece 7% dearer.

21.0 micron & finer generally firm/buyers favour.

Second Shears

All descriptions 2% dearer.

Oddments

Crossbred oddments all descriptions buyers favour.

Passings

15% passed in.
