Summary

Market generally cheaper with the exception of lambs wool.

Comment

North Island offering 10,800 bales and South Island offering 5,300 bales.  The selection consisted of 40% second shear 34 to 38 micron average/good colour, bulk 75mm and longer, 35% crossbred ewe and hogget fleece 34 to 38 micron good/average colour bulk 75/125mm and longer, 8% new season lambs, 15% associated oddments and 2% miscellaneous types.  Softer demand for the start of the New Year with most sectors operating.  South East Asia main with support from the United Kingdom, local carpet mills and Europe.

Fleece

Crossbred ewe/hogget fleece 3% cheaper.

Second Shears

Crossbred ewe/hogget second shear 2.5% cheaper.

Lambs

New seasons lambs sellers favour.

Oddments

Crossbred oddments all descriptions 4% cheaper.

Passings

15% passed in.
