Comment

North Island only today offering 10,300 bales.  The selection consisted of 15% ewe fleece mostly average colour, 75/150mm, 40% crossbred second shear good/average colour, 75mm +/-, 33% lambs generally good/average colour, 10% associated oddments and 2% miscellaneous types.  Main competition remains with Indian sub-continent, United Kingdom, Europe and local carpet mills with limited support from China.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred ewe/hogget fleece in a small selection very firm.

Poorer style crossbred fleece firm.

Shears

Good colour crossbred shears 1.5% cheaper.

Poorer colour crossbred shears 3% cheaper.

Lambs

Good colour lambs buyers favour.

Average style up to 2% cheaper.

Oddments

Carding oddments buyers favour.
