Market firm tending dearer.

Comment

North Island only selling today offering 5,445 bales.  The selection consisted of 22% crossbred fleece generally good colour, 75-150mm, 56% good colour shears, 5% mainly good colour lambs, 16% associated oddments and 1% miscellaneous types.  Continued strong competition on a smaller offering with most sectors operating.  Main competition continues to be Europe and India supported by the United Kingdom and local mills with limited support from China.

All descriptions crossbred fleece generally firm.

Shears

All descriptions firm to buyers favour.

Lambs

All microns & descriptions 3% dearer.

Oddments

Carding oddments average colour firm.

Carding oddments poor colour 10% dearer.

Passings

3% passed in.
