Comment

South Island only selling today offering 6,450 bales.  The selection consisted of 48% crossbred fleece generally good colour, 75-150mm, 16% good colour shears, 6% mainly good colour lambs, 10% mainly good colour halfbred fleece, 18% associated oddments and 2% miscellaneous types.  Very strong competition with most sectors operating.  Main competition Europe and India supported by the United Kingdom and local mills and limited support from China.

Fleece

Good colour crossbred fleece up to 5% dearer.

Average colour up to 4% dearer.

Shears

Good colour 5% dearer.

Lambs

All descriptions 5% dearer.

Oddments

Combing oddments up to 15% dearer.

Carding oddments 5% dearer.

Passings

4% passed in.
